My recommendations
1. Add minimum 3 inches of mulch in all plant beds to moderate temperature, retain moisture and as mulch breaks down, provides the minimum amount of organic material needed by the plants for survival. No need for fertilizer then.
2. Add more natives, especially larval plants (what caterpillars eat) for butterflies.
examples: corkystemmed passionvine, bahama cassia, pencil flower
3. Add more berry plants for birds.
examples: simpson stopper, wild coffee, rouge plant
4. Remove invasive exotics.
    mexican petunia, non native lantanas
5. Add at least one flat, shallow, wide water dish.
example: can use the bottom, or saucer of terra cotta pot, one that is at least 12 inches wide.

  1. What does the pencil flower look like? I googled it and apparently there are tons of people who have tagged pencil drawn images of flowers as "pencil flower" and... it was not a successful search. Thank you.
